Let's Ask the Doctor..What is Dry Eye?
"Clear Vision Comes From Healthy Tears."
Dry eye disease is frequently managed worldwide with artificial tears or medicated eye drops, but often overlooks underlying causes such as blepharitis, Sjogren's disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, or demodex infestation. Understanding the interconnectedness of the body and eyes is critical, as inflammation significantly worsens symptoms of dry eye.
"The ONLY Dry Eye Clinic with In-House Hormone Analyses"
A microscopic examination frequently uncovers poor tear quality and inflammation in individuals with dry eye, typically stemming from blocked meibomian glands. Effectively treating eye dryness requires a thorough understanding of bodily functions and the behavior of structures like eyelids and glands to tackle the underlying causes.

You ONLY have two eyes, and We Take Them Seriously.
Treating dry eye isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach because it involves multiple factors that may be dysfunctional. Simply using eye drops without addressing the underlying issues is akin to a random attempt without a clear target.
A significant term in dry eye discussions today is MGD, or meibomian gland dysfunction, which likely accounts for 80% of cases. This condition occurs when the glands in your eyelids become congested due to factors like inflammation, temperature changes, obstructions, bacteria on the lids, and enzymes in the skin. Applying eye drops alone won’t resolve these underlying issues, much like applying fluoride to teeth without proper brushing and cleaning.
The remaining 20% of dry eye conditions may involve other factors or overlap with MGD. If tear production is affected, it indicates a broader impact on overall body moisture levels, underscoring the need for a holistic approach to address both eye health and overall well-being.
